Each week brings some new scenery and location for me – that’s just the way I like it. If you want to follow where I am real time – then each Friday I will post 5 of my Instagram photos from the current week.
Some weeks I may be traveling somewhere exotic, and some weeks it may be less interesting – but it will give you a peek into my life of perpetual motion. This week I spent back on the road using my passport in Canada. I traveled to the province of BC to the little town of Golden for some Canadian Rocky adventures. Since I like to go off the beaten tourist path I passed up the well known town of Banff and kept going to Golden, an old railroad town of 4000 people perfectly positioned in the valley below Kicking Horse Mountain. Golden BC has 6 national parks, 3 mountain ranges, and 2 historic rivers all easily within reach which puts it in the perfect position for summer (and winter) adventure. This week I packed my days in Golden full of hiking, river/wetlands sightseeing, wildlife viewing, white water rafting, and paragliding while learning more about the history of this little known town. It was the home of adventure travel in the Canadian Rockies (starting in 1899) thanks to it’s vision and relationship with Switzerland. I’ll be sharing more about it in the future, but these 5 Instagram pics from the week should give you a brief introduction to the wonderfulness of Golden.

Disclosure: I was a guest of Tourism Golden and Destination BC for this trip. However all of the opinions expressed here are my own. I had been wanting to see the Canadian Rockies for a long time and getting to the lesser known town of Golden was the perfect destination for my style of travel.
I love those socks. I want some.
Love your pics! I want to visit Kicking Horse and go horseback riding…seems appropriate with that great name.
The pics are lovely – especially the Emerald lake.
So pleased you enjoyed your time in the province I live in. The Rocky Mountains never cease to amaze me. Great photos!
It was lovely there and got a little taste – will definitely come back!
I’m going to need a pair of those socks.
I know the guy to talk to who can get you those socks…but you may have to jump out of a helicopter to find him. Oh – and you can only wear those socks if you wear them with the grandma sweater you were rockin’ on rafting.
Those socks would take the rafting outfit to a whole other level. Hopefully the public will be lucky enough to see that photo one day soon 😉
Awesome photos Sherry!
Love that foggy, misty river. What magic!
Yes – that’s my favorite pic too Colleen!
Absolutely gorgeous photos! I love that you have compiled a selection that ranges from stunning mountain-scapes to eccentric socks!
