Each week brings some new scenery and location for me – that’s just the way I like it. If you want to follow where I am real time – then each Friday I will post some of my Instagram photos from the current week. Some weeks I may be traveling somewhere exotic, and some weeks it may be less interesting – but it will give you a peek into my life of perpetual motion.
This week I wasn’t in motion – and hence it’s probably a little less interesting. However I absolutely love these moments of stillness – especially when I’m around my family and holiday time. I need stillness as normal life has to happen – I have to get laundry done, work, see friends, watch movies – this is actually how I’m able to keep going, else I might lose my mind. Yet even in my moments of ‘normal life’ – I realize that my life still is far from typical. I’m sleeping in my niece’s bedroom, borrowing cars, working in the living room, and wearing my pjs all day because I can.
Minnesota has been in the deep freeze lately – ridiculously cold – yesterday it didn’t even get above zero the whole day. My Instagram pictures from this cold week have me bundled up, drinking to stay warm, baking, working, and exploring the ethnic grocery stores. This is how surviving a cold week in Minnesota looks like to me – Enjoy!
Went to the Asian/ethnic grocery store today to pick up food for dinner. I can’t explain it but I absolutely love going to this market in St. Paul – it makes me feel like I’m on the road again when I see stuff like this. I sort of feel at home there among the now familiar foods.
That’s right – I’m going to kick works ass today. Bring it on. And no, I’m not going outside – I have all the coffee and internet I need right here.
I had to go out sometime…A very cold selfie waiting under the heat lamp for public transport in Minneapolis -1 F.

I love all your posts, but I especially appreciate when you post about “boring” things now and then…like having to get work done and doing it with cookies and beer. I’ve enjoyed your adventures over the years, and used you as my inspiration for quitting my job a couple of times to travel.

Thanks Lynn – it’s lovely to hear. Honestly there are so many days where I wonder why I do this and if anyone really ever pays attention or gets anything out of it! You’ve quite your job more than once to travel?! I want to hear more!!

I agree with Lynn – you take the mundane and add sparkle.

Who says moms can’t drink beer while baking xmas cookies? I totally plan to do this when I have children, hell I might even make beer cookies while I am at it … as well as continue to travel! Life isn’t black or white, it’s a beautiful rainbow.

Beer bread. Kids and adults love it. Keep on writing Queen of F’in Everything. That is all.

I’m SO JEALOUS that they have heat lamps at bus stops there. In Boston, waiting for the above-ground green line in the winter, where wind chills are most often below zero at 7am, it’s an exercise in mentally berating the people who chose the non-enclosed unheated weather “shelters”!
