Our bodies are made up of 60% water, and our Earth’s surface is made up of 70% water. It is essential for life. It is also a source of power, it regulates our climate, and enables us to grow food, which is essential for life. Our world is reliant on clean water.
Since I’ve been writing a lot about the importance of clean water in the world lately, I thought I would share this montage of water photography from around the world. I’ve been traveling for over 7 years now and have encountered many cultures that use water in different ways than my own. Water is used for life, but also for fun and sometimes for destruction. Many of these places are locations that don’t always have easy access to water, so every drop is precious.
And if you want to learn more about helping provide clean water to those in need, please check out my Rickshaw Run donation page for charity: water.
Let’s celebrate our water world!
This article is part of the Rickshaw Run series
Driving a rickshaw from Cochin (southern India) to Shillong (northern India) – a distance of approximately 2,000 miles depending on what route we decide on. I’m not in this alone. Team Drive, Sleep, Rupeet is made up of two adventurous women. My teammate Charlie Grosso is one bad-ass chick and an incredible friend.
We are primarily doing this to raise money for charity: water, a non-profit organization that brings clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries.
