Travel Like Me Through Europe

My Europe travels could be yours!

I have barely scratched the surface of exploring Europe. It’s vast, expensive, and could take years to explore all of the countries, cities, islands, and villages. In fact, I’ve sort of avoided Europe because I never know where to start and there never seems to be enough time thanks to the restrictive Schengen visa requirements. So instead of trying to take it all on, I’m instead trying to take on parts of it for 3 months at a time.

The idea started last June, that’s when I met Paul from Oh Barcelona, a company offering short-term holiday rentals in Barcelona and many European cities. I stayed at one of their apartments in Barcelona for a few weeks and fell in love with the ability to live like a local and save money by cooking for myself while still getting to play the role of tourist and see the sites. I met Paul in person for breakfast one day and we started talking about my nomadic lifestyle. I said to him, I’d love to do this type of local travel throughout Europe so that I can get deeper into a city’s culture.

The thought expanded into multiple ideas, the ideas were narrowed down into a plan, the plan grew details, and today I happily present you the Go with Oh project!

I’m hitting the road for a month thanks to Go with Oh and staying in their luxury holiday apartments in Rome, Venice, Vienna, and Berlin. I’ll be blogging about my time in these cities, providing tips and updates via social media, sharing photography and even capturing it on video.  Whew – looks like I will be busy!

I know what you are thinking…

“What a life, I wish I could do that.”
“How do I get your job?”
“I want to travel through Europe!”

The folks at Go with Oh have anticipated this and are providing a variety of opportunities to get you involved and possibly win your own trip in addition to some cool prizes.

Here are 3 ways you too can get involved in the Go with Oh extravaganza!

Win your own 500€ voucher to Go with Oh!

Go with Oh is running a massive Facebook competition and they need your help. They are looking to expand into more European cities (currently they are in 10), simply tell them which city they should head to next and why. If they choose your city suggestion, you will get a choice of four great prizes (an iPad, Panasonic camera, 500€ worth of holiday accommodation or 500€ worth of Samsonite luggage).

Win an ipod Shuffle simply for giving me tips via Twitter!

Give me a piece of advice for my trip to any one of the four cities (Rome, Venice, Vienna, Berlin); any must-see monuments, best restaurants, or places to avoid. Let me know by tweeting your top tip to @GowithOh. The best suggestion wins the prize. They will be running several different rounds of the competition so stay updated on Facebook and Twitter for more.

Attention Bloggers – this one is for you! No matter what you blog about, now’s your chance. Hot on the heels of my European travels, you could be the next ´Go with Oh´ guest blogger. They’ll put you (and a friend) up in holiday rental apartments in four European destinations, allowing you to experience local life at a grass-roots level.
