One thing I enjoy seeing in the developing world is how people adapt to what they have. In the West is sometimes seems like you 'can't' do something because you're missing X,Y,Z. They you see people making do with so little it makes you rethink what's really essential.

It was a real pleasure to travel to Puma in Nepal with Sherry. She had made some very good friends here in only a very short time a year ago. They treated me like I was one of their family and I had just met them. The Nepal people are very family oriented and they treat the senior members of their families with honor and respect. As you can see from her photographs, I benefited from that just because I was Sherry's dad.

Sherry was probably more concerned about me than she has ever been. She was not sure how I would adapt to all of this. However, I do not need much and enjoy the simple things. I am so thankful that I had the health to do this and that she invited me to join her.

Thanks Sherry!

Love your travelling tales with your dad - how great is that, to really engage with the locals and feel part of their lives - I felt like that when I went to India to meet some of the children whose education I'm involved in sponsoring through a local charity.

What a great story. I have to admit that I teared up reading the hospitality and generousity of your hosts. I mean...how wonderful for you and your father.
