My travels this week brought me back to a place I had been before 8 years ago – Paris. The day was a mix of clouds and sun, as I photowalked through the city, I was lucky enough to get this brilliant sky when I reached the Louvre. When I first visited Paris 8 years ago, it was my fist time in Europe. I took a disposable camera with me to capture my memories…my how times have changed for me!

Love the unique view, especially with the reflection in the glass. I bet you never thought 8 years ago you would be returning to the Louvre with a fancy camera in hand while traipsing around the world
Ha – I never would have bet a million dollars that my life would have ended up as it did! So fun to reflect upon where you’ve been – that’s why I loved this trip to Paris…plus this time I had a proper camera!
Thanks for the kind words!
Very neat. I could see the dark cloud to the side giving me the glimpse of your day before the Sun broke through.
Beautiful shot Sherry
Yes, how things have changed
Curious how your first visit and this one were different?
Oh….I think you are reading my mind…am working on a blog post on the Then and Now for September! That was my favorite thing about this trip to Paris – to really consider how I’ve changes in those years as well as my views of the world!
That’s a great shot. Almost everyone I hear says the pyramid is hideously ugly. I think that is one reason I want to see it.
Well – it does seem out of place…but I think that was the point. From a photographic sense – it was a lot of fun to utilize it in composition!
Great photo! I left my camera at the Louvre the first time I went there. It wasn’t so much the camera that I was sad to lose as the photos. None of my photos were as great as this one, though; mostly they were cheesy group photos.
I’m looking forward to your Then and Now post!
Fabulous shot! I love the reflection of the buildings and sky on the pyramid.
I’ve visited the Louvre a couple of times. As far as the pyramid goes, it does look odd and out of place. It’s the clash between old and new, but in a city like Paris, I think it works.
This is a wonderful shot of a tricky subject matter! Job well done! As a Paris lover I always get impressed when I am introduced to this wonderful place through a new angle. Thanks!
