This area of NZ is remarkable and I enjoyed it on my one visit despite not being able to findf a room to stay in due to some conference. The smell starts to be ignored after a while and the thermal pools are wonderfully relaxing after a day of walking.
Mark – I had about forotten about the smell! Yes – that’s the joy of pictures…you just get to see the beauty!
This is one of the places in NZ I wish I had had time to visit. Great photo.
My trip to New Zealand concentrated on the west side of the South Island. I’d like to make it to the North Island next time, especially after seeing your photo.
we also went to Wai-o-tapu and i must say i was really impressed thinking what kind of power was lying beneath my feet. if you are visiting NZ that’s surely a place you want to go
