Love this family shot – so typically Vietnamese it makes me smile!
Starting on July 1st the helmet law for all children goes into effect – will images of helmetless kids be extinct soon? Doubtful!
You can check out my other Vietnamese transportation photos here – I’m always adding to this gallery!

That is crazy! What are they thinking, Parents have a helmet, child has a sun hat.
That’s pretty much the norm around here – no kids wear helmets. However there is a new helmet law going into effect on July 1st so we’ll see if that changes anything. Actually, I”ve been told that one of the problems is that they don’t sell helmets for young/babies here. So many times they can’t get helmets that fit.
You’ll be surprised how quickly the helmets for babies/kids will become available once the new helmet law kicks in.
Ba – I am really curious to see if I notice a difference after July 1st. Whomever is manufacturing children’s helmets here is going to make a fortune!
What I am afraid to see is the city will be flooded with below standard/no quality control helmets.
@Ba – good point – the quality of all of the helmets here are pretty poor. The only good thing is that in the city the speed of travel is relatively slow so you have time to react.
This is soo cute!! i bet the helmet regulation is in rule by now!!
