I’m embarrassed to say that I don’t even know where this was shot. Sure, I know I was in Egypt in yet another temple, but I had my overdose of temples much earlier in my stay, so I stopped really keeping track. As I wandered around yet another temple I turned around to look for my friend and that’s when I saw this perfectly lit shot.
The ancient Egyptian Gods provided a single ray of light to shine on this lucky man. A natural wonder.

Great picture! I would love to travel to Egypt.
I have to tell you, I signed up for Meet, Plan, Go for Toronto last night!! I am beyond excited for this adventure. Thanks for doing this Sherry. And, I can’t wait for your new site/adventure which you will be posting about soon. You and people like Lisa Lubin inspire me.
Vala – thanks for your comment and THANKS for signing up for Meet Plan Go! Toronto will be a great event – heck, I wish I could be there to listen to the stellar panel Janice has put together!
Thanks for all of your support, and know that you will have plenty of people cheering for you on your trip!
Very nice shot. I like the moody feel. Egypt is on my travel list for the future.
Not just the remarkable lighting but I admire the use of angles. I think it makes the photo more interesting to look at. I know what you mean about temples too…
Thanks Mark – I just about could get it all in my frame and the shot happened so quickly that I had to do the best I could – so I went diagonal. Hmmm – I had you pegged as a temple guy…a new surprise!
Beautiful Sherry! I know how you feel about having your fill of Temples, sometimes you just have seen too many at one time. But, wow. Love the lighting!
Have you guys been to Egypt yet? It’s a definite OD on temples! However I loved the feluca ride up the Nile I took!
Did he know just where the light would fall? – I’d rather bathe my face in sunshine than stand in the dark too
This is a fantastic photo. It is easy to get a little ancient ruins’ed out in Egypt, but there is always something that pulls you back to the mystery of that place. I love how this image conveys a since of divine presence and also reminds one of the map room scene in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
I still need to head out but I totally know about the “no clue where this is because I saw too many XXXXXs”.
I agree with Bevin, super Dr. Jones!
