I love orchids – so delicate, so colorful – yet I’ll be damned if I’ve ever been able to keep one alive. My recent attempt was this last summer when I still had a job. I decided to buy an orchid to brighten up my dull office. I simply needed it to stay alive for 3 months, until I quit my job. The poor thing lasted about 1 month and decided to check out on me.

My sister suggested that we go to the Orchid Garden in Singapore and see the hundreds of varieties. I figured that they may not even let me in if they knew my orchid track record…but thankfully – they didn’t ask for my orchid resume.
