Well – I finally have bought a plane ticket back to the US – bittersweet for me. However – when deciding to go back home, I decided I wasn’t going to go without a fight so I planned one last hurrah in a new country – Japan. I felt like I needed one last solo stop. By choosing Japan – I’ve hit about 95% of Asia AND I get to eat sushi!
Here are the details of my pending jetlag:
Current to Dec. 3rd – Singapore
Dec. 3 – Dec. 7th – Tokyo, Japan
Dec. 7 – Dec. 16th – San Francisco, CA
Dec. 16 – Dec. 28 – Twin Brooks South Dakota (why…because my parents live there)
Dec. 29 – Minneapolis, MN
Dec. 30…New York City (your guess is as good as mine as to how long I will stay there!)

Hey – I’m sure that after what must seem like a whole new lifetime away, you probably have plenty of folks to catch up with, but I live in Minneapolis. When I came back from a similar if much briefer trip last year, all I wanted to do was hide, hyperventilate and talk to other people who understood the pain of reentry. If you’re in need of a ride from the airport / beer / cup of tea, I’d love to hear about the adventure and I promise I won’t ask what your “favorite part” was!
Erica – thanks for the offer…I may have to take you up on that. I’ll be in Minneapolis for a short time – freezing since I don’t have a winter coat in my suitcase! Weird – but I honestly feel the same sensation – I just want to go back to my apartment in NY, look at all of my travel photos and never come out! I suppose that’s not too healthy! I plan to keep writing about the re-entry…so you may have to do some more counseling.
Thanks for reading,
Sherry
