Thank you for this useful and interesting post. My family of four are in Ho Chi Minh today and fly out tomorrow. We would love to take a cyclo ride. Would it be possible to go through the city and view the lacquerware factory for example, a kind of hop on hop off approach? Would you be able to recommend what to see while riding though the city? It really is relaxing because the pace is constant and like you said, the best thing is that you don't need to be on guard. The only difference between our rides was that I didn't leave District 1 and I paid 150,000 for about 20 minutes! Wow you must be bargaining like the locals because it sounds like you got one of the best deals in the world! Wow great blog.
