I can't believe everyone was so worried about me! It was only a slip and only went down on an arm and my butt. Not like a head bump or broken skin. Sherry was more worried about me than my Mom ever was as I was growing up. However I was a little younger and fell out ot trees, haymows, haystacks etc. Thanks anyway for being so concerned.

That's a fabulous tip! Will absolutely try that next time! Hell - I had enough tiger balm with me to last a lifetime...so I should've tried that!

I don't think anything stops leaches...I've tried everything trust me! When I was there a year ago I'd get about 5 a day on me. It was the first and only word I learned in Nepalese!

Totally true... he clearly wasn't as worried about it as I was! He did say that the trail was harder than he expected and hotter...but this was only day one, so he had to 'warm up' in a way.

Oh my God! I've done some rough travel (reminds me of rural India) but I think the leeches would be where I draw the line. Although I hear they make leech-proof socks!

New fan of the blog. Look forward to reading more of your great writing! Next time you shower in a smelly spot, apply some liquid soap/shampoo under your nose. It helps quite a bit!
