When we were in Rome the dumb thing was closed for some feast day so I sat around the piazza and tried not to cry....I long to see it! We DID go into the basilica, and after wandering around a bit, peering at a procession of cardinals as it glided by, we got in line with a bunch of teeny Italian ladies, to see...what? we didn't know. Turned out to be a wizened, mummified pope; some guy I'd never heard of. But, no Sistine Chapel, which means, of course that I have to go back to Rome! BTW, did you hear about the Ngong Ping Cable Car? http://www.thestandard.com.hk/news_detail.asp?pp_cat=11&art_id=46616&sid=14019242&con_type=3 You guys are lucky that you got to ride in it.
